left Isaac a Star Wars Coloring Book and Eden a Little People Paint book. They enjoyed that this morning, and Isaac was so excited to see what book he got, he was awake like it was Christmas!
My mother-in-law gave me this idea Isaac's first Halloween. She knew that we are not big sugar people in our house at all (the kids still don't like pop/soda, although Eden is warming up and will drink some once or twice a year) so she sent me this idea, and we love it! The kids don't go to too many houses (already cutting the sugar), then we come home and they dump out their candy and go for it! Whatever they want. It is surprising after about 5 minutes they are both done. Then they pick about three treats each they can enjoy over the next couple weeks, and the rest gets piled in the middle of the floor for the Book Witch to take away. She leaves books in place of the candy, and of course we love that part!
Hope you all had a fantastic Halloween with your children!

Hm, I have a sneaking suspicion of who the Book Witch might be. Glad the kids had so much fun, especially the big one helping to carve pumpkins.
What a great idea...We limit the sugar intake to 3 treats that night and one a day. But I like this idea way better.
